Fubon Hyundai Life Insurance announced on the 1st that it conducted a volunteer activity called ‘Creating an ESG Green Planet, Making Moss Balls’ at the Seoul Branch Western Volunteer Center of the Korean Red Cross.
‘Creating an ESG Green Planet, Making Moss Balls’ is an ESG practice program aimed at reducing carbon emissions and responding to the climate crisis by turning the Earth into a green planet.
The Fubon Hyundai Life volunteer team made moss balls using moss and created plant pot rings from recycled plastic, which they then attached to the moss pots. This is an eco-friendly volunteer activity to respond to the climate crisis.
The volunteer team plans to deliver the moss balls they made to children in vulnerable groups within the local community to help provide psychological stability, and also distributed them to volunteers as a pledge to practice ESG.
A representative from Fubon Hyundai Life Insurance said, “Moss balls are plants known to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen,” adding, “We will continue to carry out ESG practices for the community through eco-friendly carbon reduction activities and upcycling efforts.”
