Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) is accepting nominations for the "31st Yeongdeungpo-gu Citizen Award" until July 26 to find proud citizens who have contributed to community harmony and district development.

Marking its 31st year, this year's Yeongdeungpo-gu Citizen Award includes nine categories: ▲Honorable Parent Award ▲Filial Piety Award ▲Volunteer Award ▲Sports Award ▲Culture and Arts Award ▲Education Award ▲Environment Award ▲Community Contribution Award ▲Welfare Award. Up to two recipients will be selected per category.

Nominees must be citizens who have resided in Yeongdeungpo-gu for at least three years as of the award date in September, or representatives of companies or organizations located in the district. Eligible candidates are those who have contributed to community harmony and district development through dedication and service in their respective fields, or those who have practiced outstanding acts of neighborly love. However, individuals who have received the Citizen Award within the past three years are excluded.

Recommendations can be made by heads of related organizations, group leaders, and school principals by category, or by a joint recommendation signed by 30 or more citizens.

To nominate a candidate, download the nomination form and achievement report from the "Notices" board on the district website and submit the documents by July 26. Submissions can be made in person at the District Office’s Autonomous Administration Division or the local community service center, or by mail.

The district will hold a Citizen Award Evaluation Committee meeting to conduct a fair and transparent review and select the final recipients. The awards will be presented at the "Yeongdeungpo Citizen’s Day" ceremony in September.

Last year, a total of 17 individuals were honored at the "30th Citizen Award Ceremony."

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "We ask for many nominations from citizens so that the good deeds of those who quietly work behind the scenes for the district’s development can be widely recognized. We will continue to discover citizens who contribute to the local community, express our gratitude, and strive to provide various forms of support."
