The People’s Innovation Party announced that over 700,000 citizens have agreed to a National Assembly petition calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol, stating that once the Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly officially begins reviewing the impeachment petition, they will thoroughly examine the grounds for impeachment.
On the 30th, Chief Spokesperson Kim Bo-hyeop issued a statement saying, "The number of citizens agreeing to the petition is expected to surpass 1 million soon. This reflects the public sentiment," emphasizing this point.
He also offered an interpretation regarding the recent memoir of former National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo, which mentioned President Yoon Seok-yeol referring to the possibility of the Itaewon disaster being fabricated. He claimed, "Since evidence emerged that President Yoon has been managing state affairs while watching far-right YouTube broadcasts, momentum has been building. Despite this situation, he absurdly threatens to exercise a veto if the special investigation law for the fallen Marines passes the National Assembly."
He added, "I advise the People Power Party and national authorities: you should fear the angry public sentiment, not the rage of President Yoon and his wife."
On the same day, Party Leader Jo Guk posted on his social media, "After the crushing defeat in the general election, the power of the 'prosecutor-origin Six Attendants' weakened, but the influence of the 'Kim Geon-hee line New Six Attendants' has grown," alleging, "There is a rumor that when these figures speak in internal meetings at the Presidential Office, other secretaries remain silent."
He continued, "These people regard the First Lady as importantly as the President himself," adding, "History clearly shows how the story of the Attendants ends."
