Korea Racing Authority's LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam (Head: Eom Youngseok) has announced its horse racing schedule for July 2024.
In July, a total of 44 Busan-Gyeongnam races will be held over six days across three weeks. Every Friday, eight Busan-Gyeongnam races and eight Jeju races (seven in the third week) will be broadcast.
On Saturdays, ten Seoul races (nine in the fourth week) and six Jeju races will be broadcast. On Sundays, ten Seoul broadcast races and seven Busan-Gyeongnam races (six in the third week) will take place. Of the 44 races held in Busan-Gyeongnam, 34 are for domestic horses, while ten are mixed races for domestic and imported horses.
The starting time for the first Jeju race on Friday is 11:00 a.m., while the first Seoul race on Saturdays and Sundays starts at 10:35 a.m. The final race on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays all begin at 6:00 p.m.
The nighttime races, which are held every summer to help cool off the midsummer heat, were scheduled for spring and autumn this year, so there will be no nighttime racing this summer.
Considering the safety and health of racehorses and racing staff during the hottest period of the year, LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam, Jeju, and Seoul will take alternating breaks for three weeks starting from the last week of July, when the midsummer heat is at its peak.
LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam will be the first to begin the summer break, taking a rest and recharge period on the 26th and 28th. During this time, there will be no Busan-Gyeongnam races, but customers will still be able to enter the park as Seoul and Jeju races will be broadcast and available for betting. On the 26th, 14 Jeju races will be broadcast and available for betting, and on the 28th, 14 Seoul races will be broadcast and available for betting.
Afterwards, LetsRun Park Jeju will take a break in the first week of August, and LetsRun Park Seoul will follow in the second week of August. For more details regarding the break schedule, please refer to the announcements on the Korea Racing Authority's website.
