Summer Water Price Stabilization Theme
Emart announced on the 30th that it will hold the 'July Price Shock Declaration' event for one month starting from the 1st of next month, offering essential food items and daily necessities at the lowest price levels.
The theme of the event is 'Summer Price Stability.' Considering the rising food prices due to the rainy season and heat waves, as well as increased spending during summer vacations, Emart plans to provide substantial benefits focusing on popular products.
The key products for the July Price Shock are Darling Down Wagyu, Samgyetang, King Oyster Mushrooms, and Tofu, offered at up to 50% discount prices. In addition, about 40 products in categories such as processed foods, seasonings, snacks, and daily necessities will be sold at shock prices.
Emart's Price Shock Declarations, launched over the past six months under the banner of 'Strengthening Core Competitiveness,' have been evaluated as providing practical help in stabilizing grocery prices by selling the most popular products at ultra-low prices.
Emart introduced that customer support has been enthusiastic because it is not a one-time discount event but allows customers to purchase major products at shock prices throughout the month.
According to Emart, pork belly and neck meat, which were offered at the high 1,000 KRW range per 100g in January and February, sold over 1,000 tons in two months, and eggs (30 eggs per tray) priced under 5,000 KRW in March sold out all 1 million trays prepared.
In April, popular imported fruit 'Navel Oranges' and Emart's representative product Emat Rice (20kg) recorded strong sales, followed by Jeju Silver Hairtail in May, and cabbage, cold noodles, and chicken meat in June achieved record sales.
Hwang Woon-gi, Head of Emart's Product Division, said, "We take pride in having faithfully played the role of protecting grocery prices through the Price Shock Declarations over the past six months," adding, "We will continue to plan various products and offer benefits that customers can feel."
