12% Annual Incremental Increase Each Year from 2023 to 2025
The price of tap water in Ulsan will increase starting next month.
The Ulsan city government announced on the 29th that it will raise water supply fees from July in order to provide citizens with clean and safe tap water.
Ulsan has been gradually increasing water supply fees by 12% annually for three years starting from July 2023, in accordance with the revision of the ‘Ulsan Metropolitan City Water Supply Ordinance’ in May last year.
This year, starting with the July bill, household rates will rise from 770 won to 860 won per 1㎥, general use from 1,120 won to 1,250 won, and bathhouse use from 960 won to 1,070 won.
With this increase, a four-person household using an average of 20 tons per month is expected to pay about 1,800 won more, from 15,400 won to 17,200 won.
An official from Ulsan said, “The funds secured by raising water supply fees will be used to resolve the financial deficit and invest in facility improvements such as the water transmission pipeline duplication project and the maintenance of old pipelines, in order to establish a cleaner and safer tap water supply system.”
