Lies Revealed During Divorce Lawsuit
Meals Covered with Living Expenses from Parents
A Chinese woman, who had maintained a marriage with a violent husband for five years, eventually preparing for divorce, discovered a shocking fact. Her husband, who had claimed to be a 'doctor,' was actually an unemployed person who could not even earn a single coin on his own.
On the 27th (local time), the Hong Kong South China Morning Post (SCMP) covered the story of a Chinese woman, Ms. A, who is preparing a divorce lawsuit against her husband. In April, Ms. A filed for divorce at a family court in Shanghai, citing that "her husband does not contribute to household expenses." It was also reported that during their five years of marriage, her husband frequently subjected Ms. A to violence.
Ms. A's husband was known as a doctor at a large hospital in Shanghai. From the moment they first met, he emphasized that he was a highly paid doctor, which led Ms. A to hasten their marriage. The two decided to marry after only three months of dating.
They later had a daughter, but the husband did not contribute any money to living expenses. As financial difficulties worsened, Ms. A and her husband often quarreled.
Every morning, Ms. A's husband left the house early saying he was "going to work" and returned late at night. However, he never gave Ms. A any money for living expenses, and he did not even own a car registered in his name. When Ms. A asked why he did not provide money, he was quick to change the subject. Additionally, the frequency of his violent behavior toward Ms. A increased.

Eventually, Ms. A visited the hospital where her husband was supposedly employed. Upon inquiry, the hospital responded that they had never employed him. When Ms. A pressed him about this, her husband evaded by claiming he had signed a contract with another hospital.
The husband's lies were fully exposed at the court. After a thorough investigation into his employment status, the court found that no medical institution or research institute had ever hired him.
Ultimately, the husband confessed that he was an unemployed person with no money, and that the employment documents he submitted to the court at the time of their marriage were fake, purchased online. He hid his unemployment status to gain custody of their daughter and covered living expenses such as lunch and transportation with allowance money received from his mother.
After the truth was revealed, the court approved their divorce. Ms. A was granted custody of their daughter, and the court ordered her husband to pay 1,000 yuan (approximately 180,000 KRW) per month in child support. Additionally, he was fined for making false statements in court.
