Launch of Han River Water Quality Prediction SaaS Development and Demonstration Project
Ditonic, a specialized company in spatiotemporal big data and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, announced on the 28th that it has launched a project to develop and demonstrate a digital twin-based water quality prediction Software as a Service (SaaS). The completed solution is expected to be used for water resource monitoring and environmental digital twin technologies by the Korea Water Resources Corporation.
This project is part of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA)'s '2024 Digital Twin-Based Creation Project.' Ditonic plans to form a consortium with universities, research institutes, and tech companies participating in the project to develop the water quality prediction digital twin SaaS.
In this project, Ditonic will develop and demonstrate a digital twin solution that integrates simulation of water pollution incidents and abnormal water quality prediction services for water intake sources in the Han River basin area. Alongside this, the company will also develop SaaS for integrated pollution source management and build an integrated control service.
Beyond this project, Ditonic is strengthening digital twin service technologies in environmental fields such as water resources, climate change, and greentech. The scope of business expansion will not be limited to domestic markets but will extend globally.
Earlier in April, Ditonic obtained approval as a specialized institution from the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), a technical mechanism implementation body under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). By joining as a CTCN member company, Ditonic gained eligibility to bid on technology support projects necessary for climate change response in developing countries, adding a foothold for entering emerging markets.
Jeon Yong-ju, CEO of Ditonic, stated, “The wave of digital transformation has already entered areas of efficient management of environmental resources closely related to daily life, such as air quality, water, and climate, as well as industrial data. The areas requiring application of digital twin technology are gradually expanding. Through this project, we will build an optimized water resource management model based on digital twin technology and expand opportunities by developing a solution portfolio applicable to the global market.”
