Hanwha Co., Ltd. Publishes Sustainability Management Report Highlighting ESG Achievements

"Promoting ESG Management as a Great Challenger"

Hanwha Corporation announced on the 28th that it has published the "2024 Sustainability Management Report," which contains major activities and achievements in the fields of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG).

Key achievements include ▲completion of joining K-RE100 to achieve carbon reduction plans ▲implementation of quantitative financial impact analysis on climate change scenarios ▲conducting life cycle assessment of core products ▲obtaining S-grade process management rating for all global business sites ▲establishing a mid- to long-term human rights management roadmap.

This report utilized a double materiality assessment that comprehensively considers social, environmental, and financial impacts from both internal and external corporate perspectives.

Meanwhile, Hanwha Corporation is promoting company-wide ESG management. In 2021, it established an ESG Committee under the Board of Directors to build governance for professional review and decision-making on sustainability management activities and eco-friendly strategies. As a practical implementation organization under the ESG Committee, an ESG council consisting of 10 modules including environmental management and safety and health management was created.

As a result of these efforts, Hanwha received the "Carbon Management Sector Honors" in the industrial goods category at the 2023 CDP Korea Awards, and the construction division was selected as the best company at the "2023 Korea Win-Win Growth Awards." In April, Hanwha also rose one grade to an 'A' rating in the ESG evaluation conducted by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), based on improved scores in the governance sector.
