The response to missing elderly dementia patients stood out during the meeting. The missing dementia patient who disappeared on the 17th of last month in Anjwa-myeon, Shinan-gun, was found after 5 days thanks to the efforts of search dogs.

Since the elderly population aged 65 and over in Shinan-gun has exceeded 40%, it is expected that missing dementia cases will increase, emphasizing the necessity of the search dog introduction project promoted by the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency.

The importance of CCTV was also highlighted. It was explained that CCTV installation is necessary not only for crime prevention but also for the early detection of dementia patients, and cooperation with Shinan-gun was emphasized along with the need to push for an increase in the CCTV installation budget.

Chief Lee Eulsin stated, “We will strengthen communication among police cooperative organizations centered on the Police Development Council to further activate participatory policing.”

The police and local community are expected to work together to create a safer and more secure urban environment.

Meanwhile, through this meeting, the future development of Shinan Police Station and the seriousness of community safety were highlighted.
