"Some Conversation Content Distorted into Interview Format"

An interview article containing statements from Kim Hee-young, chairperson of the T&C Foundation and partner of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, was recently published. However, the 'Podo Museum,' for which Chairperson Kim serves as the general director, has stated that the content of the article is "not true."

On the 27th, Podo Museum posted a notice under the name of Kim Dae-hoon, head of management support, on its official website and social media channels. They stated, "We confirmed that the conversation between Chairperson Kim and the reporter was distorted into a Q&A format and published under the headline 'First Media Interview,'" adding, "We deeply regret that words spoken by an employee to refuse the interview were used as the headline, thereby conveying incorrect information."

They further explained, "In early April, a reporter from Women Chosun requested an exhibition explanation from General Director Kim Hee-young, and we politely declined the interview," adding, "The reporter repeatedly and earnestly requested to write an article related only to the exhibition, not a personal interview. Since there was no other staff available to serve as a docent on-site, the general director provided the exhibition explanation on the condition that no interview would be conducted."

The Podo Museum stated that it is reviewing necessary measures, including legal action, regarding the incorrect reporting and intends to respond strongly to fake news or false claims.

Previously, Women Chosun published an article in its July issue titled "SK Chairman Chey Tae-won's Partner Kim Hee-young's First Media Interview." In the article, Chairperson Kim is quoted as saying, "I want to speak through various tools in a way that involves less hatred, less anger."

The interview is known to have been conducted in April. Regarding the reason for its publication in the July issue, Women Chosun explained, "It was a situation where we could not predict the impact of a single word from Chairperson Kim."

Meanwhile, Podo Museum is a multipurpose cultural space opened by SK Group in 2021 after remodeling an exhibition space within Jeju Luce Resort. Chairperson Kim serves as the general director. In May, Chairperson Kim presented an exhibition she planned titled "Perhaps Beautiful Days." This exhibition showcased works by ten artists focusing on cognitive impairment (dementia), and Chairperson Kim personally explained the exhibition pieces to the press.
