"Driving Force for Lunar New Year Promotion"... Yeongdeungpo-gu Operates 'Our Neighborhood Talk(Talk) Reporters'

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will establish a "two-way promotion system" through the "Our Neighborhood Talk(Talk) Reporters," who effectively promote diverse and beneficial district news, communicate with residents, and formulate policies.

This reflects District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon's strong determination to communicate with residents on the front lines and operate the district administration based on this communication. Mayor Choi Ho-kwon has often emphasized, "Good policies start with promotion," and "Active and effective promotion based on communication is a major driving force for the development of district administration." This is an effort to implement two-way promotion that collects residents' opinions rather than one-sided promotion.

First, starting from July 1, the district will hold a total of eight appointment ceremonies for 485 "Talk(Talk) Reporters" and actively engage in "two-way promotion." The "Talk(Talk) Reporters" consist of residents who are highly interested in the local community or well-informed about local conditions, including members of various organizations, committees, and regional communities.

They deliver key district policies, events, facilities, lifestyle information, and programs to residents through KakaoTalk. When delivering information, they use short but concise texts and illustrated card news to capture attention and enhance residents' interest and understanding. The plan is to deliver various news concisely and promptly to increase residents' accessibility and participation in district projects.

The "Talk(Talk) Reporters" do not stop at delivering news. While conveying news, they also relay diverse and vivid opinions from residents to the district office, playing the role of "informants and policy proposers" who contribute to better policy formulation. At the same time, residents actively participate in policy formation through the "Talk(Talk) Reporters."

The district expects that through the "Talk(Talk) Reporters," cases where residents miss various supports and benefits due to lack of knowledge about systems or services or the inconvenience of having to check individually will be improved.

Additionally, it explained that news tailored to the demands and perspectives of specific groups such as single-person households, middle-aged, youth, and seniors can be effectively delivered.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, "Good policies start from the residents. We will find answers through continuous communication and incorporate them into district administration," adding, "We will listen more diligently to discover living, community-based policies and policies that residents want while breathing together with the residents."
