The ‘Poseung (BIX) District Access Road,’ connecting National Route 38 in Manho-ri, Poseung-eup, Pyeongtaek City, within the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Poseung (BIX) District, will be fully opened on the 28th.
The Poseung (BIX) District Access Road (Urban Planning Road Daero 3-11 Line) is a project promoted as part of the metropolitan traffic improvement measures following the development of the Poseung (BIX) District. A total of 16.8 billion KRW was invested, including 7.8 billion KRW from the national government, 7.8 billion KRW from the provincial government, and 1.2 billion KRW from Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH).
The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority and GH conducted consultations with related organizations such as the Pyeongtaek Police Station to open the road early. The early opening was implemented before the handover of road facility maintenance management to the local government to resolve the inconvenience complaints of residents and tenant companies in the Poseung (BIX) District.
Choi Won-yong, head of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority, stated, "Until now, when entering the Poseung (BIX) District from the Manho-ri area of Poseung-eup, there was inconvenience caused by having to detour toward Manhosa Intersection using National Route 38. However, with the opening of the access road, we expect that the traffic inconvenience for tenant companies and nearby residents within the Poseung (BIX) District will be resolved."
The Poseung (BIX) District Access Road is 0.456 km long and 27 to 30 meters wide. Construction began in April 2020 and was completed in September 2023. In May, Pyeongtaek City announced the approval of the urban planning facility implementation plan (change), and plans to complete the handover of facilities by July.
