Dongjak-gu "Bold Incentives for Outstanding Public Officials in Proactive Administration" View of Dongjak District Office.

Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 28th that it will provide exceptional incentives to outstanding public officials and teams who have achieved tangible results for residents through creative and challenging work initiatives in proactive administration.

In the first half of this year, Dongjak-gu received a total of 26 proactive administration case recommendations from residents and employees, ultimately selecting 8 cases. The selected public officials will receive the highest grade in performance bonuses, additional points in performance evaluations, and reward leave, among other benefits.

The outstanding proactive administration team award went to the Welfare Coordination Team, which activated the "Hyo-do Taxi" service?a representative filial piety welfare policy of Dongjak-gu?by linking it with the Hyo-do Call Center to enable seniors aged 65 and older with mobility difficulties in the district to use taxis with just one phone call.

The encouragement award team was the Cleaning Administration Team, which implemented various projects to create a clean urban environment with ideas such as the nation’s first solar-powered automatic folding household waste installation and improvements to the design of volume-based waste bags.

The outstanding public official awards were given to Yoon Yeo-hoon, who introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) robot to a shelter for people with physical disabilities for the first time in the country; Jo Min-seo, who actively requested a legal interpretation from government ministries to change the use of some floors in a public daycare center to integrate daycare and Kiwoom centers reflecting current care demands; and Son Ji-won, who swiftly demolished old unauthorized buildings to ensure residents’ safety.

The encouragement awards went to Song Hyun-chul, who created the district’s largest barefoot walking trail in the city for residents’ health; Nam Eun-mi, who contributed to the selection of Dongjak-gu as an excellent institution for public design activation by implementing crime prevention design policies; and Jeon Jae-hyuk, who worked to waive fees for eight popular types of unmanned civil service issuance machines to enhance resident convenience and promote non-face-to-face civil services.

Notably, starting this year, a new procedure was introduced for in-depth evaluation, where project managers directly present policies and respond to questions from the judging panel.

The district announced plans to disseminate outstanding proactive administration cases across all departments to foster a proactive work culture in the public sector. Additionally, efforts will be made to activate proactive administration within the organization by strengthening fairness in selecting outstanding proactive public officials, expanding protection and support for proactive public officials, and sharing best practices among institutions.

Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “We will establish preferential measures for outstanding proactive administration cases to motivate public officials to approach their work creatively and proactively.”
