Kim Jong-oh, Vice President of Korea National Open University, Holds the Largest Assets of 9.3 Billion Won... Kim Hyun-wook, Secretary for Economic Security, Has 5.3 Billion Won

Government Public Officials Ethics Committee Discloses Assets of 59 High-Ranking Officials

Kim Jong-oh, Vice President of Korea National Open University, reported assets worth approximately 9.3 billion KRW, making him the highest-asset current senior public official. Kim Hyun-wook, Economic Security Secretary of the National Security Office, followed with assets of 5.3 billion KRW.


The Government Public Officials Ethics Committee disclosed on the 28th the assets held by 59 senior public officials whose status changed between March 2 and April 1 this year through the official gazette.


The top asset reporter this time was Vice President Kim. He reported 9.31447 billion KRW, including the Acrovista apartment in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, and the Biksan Megatrium officetel in Hangangno 2-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, under his name.


The second highest asset holder among current officials was Secretary Kim, who owns apartments in Naseong-dong, Sejong City, and Sinpo-dong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, under his name. Including the pre-sale rights of the Raemian Triniwon Banpo apartment in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, and a 1.3 billion KRW apartment leasehold in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, owned by his spouse, he reported a total of 5.27569 billion KRW.


Lee Sang-gap, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju Metropolitan City, reported 4.38663 billion KRW, ranking third.


Among retirees, former Fair Trade Commission Standing Commissioner Jeong Jin-wook reported the highest assets at 6.20731 billion KRW. Former Chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Lee Seong-hee reported 4.94809 billion KRW, and former Director of the Local Government Officials Development Institute Ryu Im-cheol reported 3.97912 billion KRW.


Former Senior Secretary for Civil Society at the Presidential Office Hwang Sang-mu reported 2.06982 billion KRW, and former Chairman of the National Institute of Korean History Kim In-geol reported 2.3054 billion KRW.
