Dongdaemun-gu Children's Park Transformed into a Resting Place Full of Flowers and Trees Yongmeori Children's Park

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is promoting a park environment improvement project to enhance the convenience for residents using children's parks.

The targets are six parks with many users located near daycare centers and residential areas (Maronie, Yongmeori, Angol, Hwikyung, Shelter, and Isul), where the project will transform them into pleasant and safe resting places for residents through ▲replacement of outdated playground equipment ▲creation of circular walking paths ▲installation of cooling fog systems ▲planting of trees and flowers.

The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of July. Maronie Children's Park will feature a play area shaped like the leaves of the Maronie (Aesculus) tree, and Yongmeori Children's Park will have a playground theme based on Yongmeori, with each park's unique characteristics reflected in the environmental improvements.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We will continue to maintain children's parks so that they can become community spaces where all residents, including children, can use together.”
