The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have launched a missile attack on a Ukrainian airfield where Western countries are scheduled to deploy military aircraft, the Daily Telegraph reported on the 27th (local time).
According to the report, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a press release that the attack on the Ukrainian airfield involved the use of the hypersonic long-range missile 'X-47 M2 Kinzhal' and drones. The Russian side claimed, "All designated targets were hit."
The media analysis suggests that this airstrike was an attempt to destroy Ukraine's military infrastructure aimed at deploying F-16 fighter jets sent by the West.
Meanwhile, citing military sources, the media reported that the military aircraft supported by the Western side could be delivered to Ukraine as early as the end of this month or by the end of next month at the latest.
