Kim Kyungho and Park Wankyu Concert, Kun-Woo Paik Piano Recital ... Offering Cultural Experiences
The planned performances held at the Haman Culture and Arts Center in Gyeongnam have continued to sell out every seat in June, drawing high interest from local residents.
First, following the Rock Power Concert by Korea’s leading rock singers Kim Kyungho and Park Wankyu, the Baek Geonwoo Piano Recital, which marked his first Mozart album, also sold out rapidly on the first day of ticket sales.
In addition, performances held in the first half of the year?such as Phantom of Musical (February), Nunsense, Two Girls (March), Jump (April), Mischa Maisky Cello Recital, and Love Letter (May)?also sold out quickly after ticket sales opened, reflecting the strong enthusiasm of residents for culture and the arts.
The Haman Culture and Arts Center has strived to provide a diverse and profound cultural experience for residents by planning a wide range of performances, from children’s musicals and popular music to theater and traditional arts, catering to all age groups from children to seniors.
To respond to the enthusiastic support of the residents, the center has prepared a variety of performances for the second half of the year: in July, the Seoul City Ballet’s “Sleeping Beauty” (13th), Ieum Opera Company’s “Nolbujeon” (20th), the jukebox musical “Tryout” (27th), and a House Concert for Culture Day (31st).

Furthermore, in August, planned performances include an invitation from the Busan National Gugak Center (10th), a VOS and J-Cera concert (23rd), a House Concert for Culture Day (28th), and the Original Science Magic Concert (31st). In September, there will be a Clara Jumi Kang Duo Recital (6th), offering audiences a cool summer and healing through culture with a variety of genres.
Meanwhile, the Haman Culture and Arts Center, which opened in 2005, will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. With continuous membership growth, the number of paid members has surpassed 1,700, and interest from both local residents and those in neighboring areas continues to rise.
The center has worked to attract excellent programs by enhancing its performance infrastructure, including the nation’s first installation of stage lift safety railings, a smart seating audience control system, sterilizers, and an air purification spray system for a comfortable environment. These efforts have become benchmarks for other venues nationwide, and the center is committed to ongoing facility improvements and safety management.
An official from the Haman Culture and Arts Center stated, “The sellout of all seats for our planned performances in the first half of the year, thanks to the enthusiastic support of our residents, is a great example of the development of local culture and the arts. In the second half of the year, we will prepare even more diverse and high-quality performances to provide residents with greater opportunities to enjoy culture.”
