Heo Seok-gon Appointed as New Commissioner of the Fire Agency... 30-Year Firefighting Field Expert

Heo Seok-gon, the head of the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, has been appointed as the 6th Commissioner of the National Fire Agency.

According to the National Fire Agency on the 27th, Commissioner Heo was born in 1967 in Geoje, Gyeongnam. He graduated from Busan Hye-gwang High School and the Department of Marine Science at Pusan National University, and completed a master's course in Public Administration at the same university's graduate school.

Commissioner Heo, who entered public service in 1993 as the 7th Fire Officer Candidate, has served as the head of the Ulsan Fire Headquarters, the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, the Planning and Coordination Officer of the National Fire Agency, and the head of the Incheon Fire Headquarters.

A presidential office official evaluated on the same day, "Appointee Heo is the right person to protect the safety of the people from natural disasters and urban disasters based on his extensive experience in fire scene command."
