Delivery Service Launched in Gangseo-gu, Seoul
hy announced on the 27th that it is launching the delivery application ‘Knowk’ and commencing its service.
Knowk is an order brokerage platform. The name is a compound of 'Know' and 'K-local,' meaning 'to get to know the local commercial district,' and also implies 'knocking on the customer's door.' The company explained that the app name aligns with hy’s long-term vision.
hy plans to nurture Knowk as a platform supporting consumers' rational purchasing activities and contribute to revitalizing local commercial districts. The data accumulated through the business will be utilized to build a collaborative model with ‘Fresh Manager,’ which has strengths in local delivery.
Customers can use the service without delivery fees as long as they meet the minimum order amount set by the store. A 5,000 KRW discount coupon is provided on the first order. The burden on store owners has also been reduced. The platform applies the industry's lowest commission rates and does not charge advertising or membership fees. Stores are exposed based on customer satisfaction, and ratings are managed separately for delivery service and food quality.
Promotion activities for franchise stores are also supported. Content featuring visits by famous influencers to stores is produced and exposed through the app. Due to its reasonable operating method, word of mouth has spread, and 900 stores in other regions have completed registration. hy plans to expand the delivery area to include fresh food and non-food sectors through collaboration with small business owners such as neighborhood butcher shops and side dish stores. Expansion of service areas is also under consideration.
Knowk is initially operated only in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with plans to consider expanding to other regions in the future.
An hy representative said, “Knowk will play an important role not just as a simple brokerage platform but in expanding hy’s business areas. We will digitize various transactions and ancillary information occurring in local commercial districts to create new opportunities.”
