Polaris Office announced on the 27th that it has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kakao Enterprise to support the cloud transition of prominent companies and public institutions.

Through this MOU, both companies will establish and implement regional strategies to expand their customer base in both the public and private sectors. They will also collaborate in technology and marketing fields, strengthening their strategic partnership to enhance both brand value and market share.

Worldwide, there is a trend of shifting the paradigm from self-built infrastructure to cloud services to achieve faster service delivery, stability, and cost efficiency. Leading domestic and international companies are pursuing digital transformation through cloud-native approaches. The government has also responded swiftly to this trend by announcing the application of cloud-native technology as a core task of the Digital Platform Government realization plan in April.

Polaris Office plans to collaborate by integrating its cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) with Kakao Enterprise’s 'Kakao Cloud' platform. Kakao Cloud will be prioritized as the cloud service for software (SW) product development and storage, and customized product development and support will be provided for Kakao Cloud users.

Kakao Enterprise will support Polaris Office by providing ▲technical consulting for converting Polaris Office’s SW products into cloud-based service models ▲operating Polaris Office products within Kakao Cloud ▲and advising on reducing Polaris Office’s cloud usage costs.

A Polaris Office representative stated, "We will expand our market presence with Kakao Enterprise, which has secured technological competitiveness in the cloud market," adding, "We aim to jointly target the corporate and public markets in line with the recent focus on cloud transition and secure market leadership."

They continued, "For the past 10 years, we have been one of the few native cloud document SW companies worldwide, reliably serving 130 million global users," and added, "We will also contribute to improving work productivity for companies and public institutions by integrating generative AI models in the future."

Lee Ji-hye, Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of Kakao Enterprise, said, "The collaboration between Kakao Cloud, which possesses global technological capabilities, and Polaris Office will provide technical, efficiency, and cost value enhancements beyond cloud transition," and added, "We will continue to strive to expand customers’ competitiveness and choices so that the market can sustain growth beyond just targeting the cloud market."

Meanwhile, Kakao Cloud is the only domestic cloud service provider (CSP) that ranked 44th and 70th in the Global Supercomputer TOP500 in May, gaining recognition for its global technological capabilities. It is reported that there is a growing number of inquiries from industries requiring high-level computing cloud services such as AI, blockchain, gaming, and medical and bio sectors.
