On July 1, the District Office Auditorium will host a discussion on key achievements and future directions marking the 2nd anniversary of the 8th Minseon administration
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) will hold the "Dongjak-gu Citizens' Roundtable Policy Discussion" on July 1st at 2 PM in the main auditorium of the district office to share the achievements of the first half of the 8th elected term and explore development directions for the second half.
This discussion is organized to gather creative and innovative policy ideas from diverse citizens across various sectors and to promote effective projects that complete the "Best Value City, Dongjak."
Previously, the district selected about 200 discussants by publicly recruiting citizens who wished to participate in the roundtable discussion both online and offline, as well as receiving recommendations from each department by field.
Participants were selected considering local and generational factors such as parents from 15 neighborhoods, youth, seniors, small business owners, cultural artists, and athletes.
First, the event will begin with a pre-performance and a 2nd anniversary commemorative video, followed by Mayor Park Il-ha delivering the keynote presentation to share the "Major Policies of the First Half," setting the tone for the discussion.
Subsequently, the discussion will be organized into 17 roundtables, each accommodating up to 10 participants, where one policy will be developed per table based on the assigned topic.
The discussion topics cover nine major areas: ▲Balanced City ▲Welfare (children, youth, seniors) ▲Education ▲Economy ▲Culture ▲Living ▲Safety, among others.
Each table will have one facilitator to naturally draw out citizens' opinions, and department heads will be present to ensure smooth Q&A related to district policies.
The 17 policies finalized at each roundtable will undergo a consensus vote to select the top 10 priority policies.
The policies proposed by residents will be reviewed for feasibility by relevant departments and experts and then promoted as new policies.
Over the past two years, the district has continued its relentless policy efforts, achieving tangible results that residents can feel.
Representative examples include ▲the establishment of the district’s own 'Urban Development Management Guidelines,' the first among local governments ▲operation of the Dongjak Filial Piety Call Center ▲monthly rent of 10,000 won housing ▲and resolving daily inconveniences through proactive administration.
Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu said, “I hope this discussion will be an opportunity to deeply discuss the future development direction of the district,” adding, “We will definitely realize ‘Best Value City, Dongjak,’ a city that changes the map of all fields including urban development, welfare, living, and economy, making citizens proud.”
