New Express Bus Route Established from Yongin Seocheon District to Seoul Station

Yongin City to Operate Under Semi-Public System... 12 Buses Scheduled for Deployment

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that a new semi-public metropolitan bus route connecting Seocheon District in Giheung-gu to Seoul Station will be established.

New Express Bus Route Established from Yongin Seocheon District to Seoul Station

This new route was proposed by the city to the Metropolitan Transportation Committee under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and recently, the committee selected it as a target for this year’s semi-public metropolitan bus system.

Although about 26,000 residents live in Seocheon-dong and Nongseo-dong, they have had to take village buses to nearby Kyunghee University Road to reach downtown Seoul, including Seoul Station. Likewise, Gomae-dong and Gongse-dong had no metropolitan bus routes heading toward Seoul Station.

The new route will start from Seocheon District, pass through Gongse-dong, Bora-dong, and Sanggal-dong, and terminate at Seoul Station before returning. The city plans to deploy a total of 12 buses on this route. The city will select a transportation operator and complete preparations such as bus delivery and personnel allocation to start operations as soon as possible.

A city official stated, "As the population increases due to various development projects throughout the city, we will do our best to secure routes where additional metropolitan buses are needed."
