Gyeonggi Economic Agency Attracts 89 Billion KRW Investment in Pyeongtaek Poseung District

On the 26th, the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority signed investment attraction agreements with four domestic companies.

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority has successfully attracted 89 billion KRW in corporate investment to the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district.

On the 26th, the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority signed an investment agreement with Jinseong S&P Co., Ltd., Goryeo Hangup Co., Ltd., Jinyong Engineering Co., Ltd., SEA SA Co., Ltd., and Pyeongtaek City at the 8th-floor conference room of the Pyeongtaek Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone.

With this investment, the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority expects to create 235 new jobs in the Pyeongtaek Poseung district, and the entry of automobile-display parts manufacturing companies is anticipated to accelerate the establishment of a future mobility cluster.

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority and Pyeongtaek City promised to support various permits and approvals necessary for factory construction by companies, as well as to resolve any difficulties arising until completion. They also agreed to work together to contribute to regional economic revitalization through the prompt establishment of manufacturing facilities within the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district and to operate and manage environmentally friendly facilities.

Choi Won-yong, head of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority, said, "We are grateful to the four companies that decided to invest in the Poseung (BIX) district despite the difficult domestic and international economic conditions," and promised, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure that resident companies have no difficulties conducting business in the Free Economic Zone."

The Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district covers a total area of 2.04 million square meters (620,000 pyeong), including 780,000 square meters of industrial facility land, 550,000 square meters of logistics facility land, as well as residential facilities, neighborhood living facilities, and other support facilities.

Within 5 km of the project area are the Asan National Industrial Complex, Poseung 2 General Industrial Complex, and the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Pyeongtaek Hyeondeok district. The Poseung IC on the West Inland Expressway and the double-track Seohae Line (Anjung Station) are scheduled to open within 2024.
