"Throw Away Disposable Cups with Your Real Name"
"Mr./Ms. ○○, what will the children see and learn?"
A post criticizing those who set their real names or their children's names as nicknames at Starbucks and then illegally litter disposable cups is gaining attention.
On the 26th, an online community called 'BobaeDream' featured a post titled "Why you shouldn't carelessly order with your real name at Starbucks." The author, Mr./Ms. A, posted a photo of a Starbucks disposable cup discarded on the street, commenting, "If you use your real name, you should be more careful from now on." The photo uploaded by Mr./Ms. A showed a Starbucks disposable cup with a nickname written on it, thrown into a flower bed.
When ordering through the Starbucks application (app), a sticker printed with the nickname set by the customer and the order details is attached to the disposable cup, and the customer is called by that nickname. The nickname can be set as the real name, a nickname, or anything the customer desires.
Mr./Ms. A pointed out, "Some people used their real names as is and littered all kinds of trash in front of buildings and just left," adding, "Mr./Ms. ○○, if you were going to leave it like this, you should have at least finished drinking it. If you couldn't finish it, why did you order a Venti size?"
They also shared a photo, saying, "One father ordered drinks using a nicely written nickname with his children's names and illegally dumped the cup on a no-parking sign." The photo posted by Mr./Ms. A showed a disposable cup with the nickname '○○○○appa' (meaning '○○○○ dad') discarded alongside beverage PET bottles and other trash.
Mr./Ms. A said, "Sir, what will the children see and learn?" and added, "If you're going to throw it away like this, you shouldn't mention your real name. You probably want your children to have the morality they need to uphold in society, but this is truly regrettable."
They continued, "Those who properly separate their trash can order with their real names without any problem, but those who are careless and uneducated, who find separating trash bothersome and throw it anywhere on the street, I sincerely hope you think twice before ordering with your real name at Starbucks." They also said, "I hope the people involved see this and feel ashamed," and criticized, "If you use your real name when signing up for Starbucks membership, it becomes a 'Trash Real-Name System' for those who illegally litter."
Netizens who saw the post left comments such as "The Trash Real-Name System is a good idea," "The conscience thrown on the street has become trash along with their name," "It might be better to clearly indicate real names like this," and "Children of those who used their children's names shouldn't see and learn this kind of behavior."
