New Route Confirmed from Anjung·Cheongbuk to Sadang Station
On the 26th, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced that a new metropolitan bus route connecting the western areas such as Anjung and Cheongbuk to Seoul will be established.
The city has been promoting the metropolitan bus route to improve Seoul accessibility in the western region, where public transportation is relatively underdeveloped, and recently, the route establishment was confirmed by the Route Selection Review Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Metropolitan Area Wide-area Transportation Committee.
The new route will start from Anjung Terminal and operate through Hyeonhwa Residential District, Cheongbuk New Town, Cheongbuk Administrative Welfare Center, Uiwang Tollgate, and Sadang Station. Eight vehicles will be deployed daily, running 18 trips per day. The city expects that this new route will reduce the travel time to Seoul for residents in the western area by about 30 minutes.
Jung Jang-seon, mayor of Pyeongtaek, stated, "We will continue to make various efforts to expand public transportation services in the western region, including the introduction of smart buses, route system reorganization, and operation of passenger trains between Pyeongtaek and Poseung."
