Hyundai L&C is accelerating its push into the Chinese premium interior market.
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building materials company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 26th that it participated in "Design Shanghai 2024," held for four days starting from the 19th at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in China. Design Shanghai is China’s largest premium interior design expo, featuring over 600 companies and designers from around the world showcasing interior and architectural materials.

This expo was organized into four sections: Furniture & Lighting, Kitchen & Bathroom, Living & Lifestyle, and New Materials & Applications. Hyundai L&C, participating for the third consecutive year, set up an exhibition booth in the New Materials & Applications section to demonstrate its advanced technological capabilities.
A Hyundai L&C representative stated, “Following our participation in Guangzhou Design Week last year, this year we are focusing more on direct local sales activities by participating in Design Shanghai, which attracts active visits from on-site professionals such as design offices and interior designers.”
The Hyundai L&C booth attracted attention by exhibiting large structures using the eco-friendly interior film “Bodak.” Inside, about 30 representative products were displayed, including film products like “Bodak” and “Bodak Deco,” interior stones such as the reinforced natural stone “Kanstone” (export name Hanstone), and artificial marble “Hanex.”
In particular, Hyundai L&C showcased new products applying excellent technology, such as “Painted Concrete” and “Velvet Metal,” which highlight the unique texture of the Bodak product line, and “Real Fabric,” woven with warp and weft threads identical to actual fabric. Additionally, reflecting the latest interior trends like modularization and easy installation, they introduced wall panel products with films attached to boards, which received high marks for versatility. Kanstone’s “Opimo Collection,” the world’s first to replicate natural stone quartzite patterns, also received favorable reviews from local visitors.
Meanwhile, since establishing its Shanghai branch in 2009, Hyundai L&C has expanded its market focusing on films and interior stones, supplying materials to China’s five major international airports and the office building of IT company Terminus, earning recognition for its excellence.
A Hyundai L&C representative said, “Through this exhibition, we are currently discussing contracts with numerous clients related to residential and commercial remodeling,” adding, “We will further strengthen sales activities targeting premium commercial spaces such as franchise hotels and construction companies, aiming to increase sales in the Chinese market by more than 30% within the next three years.”
