Donation to Goodwill Store... Contributing to Employment Creation for People with Developmental Disabilities
'Creating Jobs for Disabled People and Sustainable Environment' Agreement
CJ CheilJedang is strengthening its community contribution activities that support the growth and economic independence of people with developmental disabilities.
On the 26th, CJ CheilJedang announced that it signed a business agreement for "job creation for people with disabilities and a sustainable environment" at the Goodwill Store Seoul Milal Dobong Branch of the Milal Welfare Foundation, attended by Jeong Gil-geun, Head of Communications, and Han Sang-wook, Head of the Goodwill Headquarters.

Through this agreement, CJ CheilJedang plans to donate food worth 5 billion KRW annually to the Goodwill Store this year. This will lead to the creation of jobs for about 280 people with developmental disabilities working at the Goodwill Store. In addition, various educational programs to improve the intellectual abilities of people with developmental disabilities, such as writing classes, will also be supported.
CJ CheilJedang has steadily increased its food donations every year, starting with 300 million KRW in 2019 to create jobs for people with disabilities. To date, the cumulative number of items donated to the Goodwill Store is about 5 million, with a total value exceeding 7.8 billion KRW.
The Goodwill Store is expanding the number of stores operating "Hetbahn Container Collection Boxes" nationwide to encourage more consumers to participate in recycling Hetbahn containers. CJ CheilJedang, which had been collecting Hetbahn containers mainly through its own mall "CJ The Market," installed Hetbahn container collection boxes in all Goodwill Store locations nationwide starting in April.
Since the Goodwill Store plans to expand the number of stores to 100 by 2035, the number of container collection boxes is also expected to increase significantly. The Goodwill Store will also donate 1% of the sales revenue from food received from CJ CheilJedang to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
Jeong, the Head of Communications, emphasized, "This collaboration will be an exemplary social contribution model that creates mutual synergy in terms of job creation for people with developmental disabilities and resource circulation."
