"Enjoys Smoking" Charlie Hull Requests Cigarette Signature

Charlie Hull (England), a well-known "smoker" on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, is gaining attention for a video showing her carefully signing a cigarette offered by a fan.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on the 26th, Hull is seen signing autographs for fans who came to watch the game, and she meticulously signs a single cigarette handed to her by one fan. At golf tournaments, fans usually take advantage of moments when players are moving to get autographs on prepared papers, hats, or T-shirts. However, players often refuse to sign small items such as golf balls. But Hull smiled and carefully signed even the small cigarette, which became a hot topic. Previously, Hull appeared on Golf Channel and said, "I like signing autographs, so I never refuse autograph requests."

Netizens who saw this commented, "So cool," "The way she diligently signs even a single cigarette is charming," and "A fun situation that happens when a golfer is a smoker." However, some netizens expressed concern about Hull signing such a tiny cigarette, saying, "At least let her sign a cigarette pack."

Additionally, Hull previously attracted attention when a video circulated showing her signing for a fan while holding a lit cigarette in her mouth. There was criticism that many children come to golf courses and that it was disrespectful to fans, but Hull confidently stated, "I enjoy smoking," and this incident actually increased her fan base. At that time, Hull said, "I sometimes smoke during delays in the game," adding, "But I plan to quit soon. However, I don't know when," showing her smoker's side.

Ranked 8th in the world, Hull finished tied for 16th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship on the 23rd and is scheduled to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
