Daedong Hospital Selected as Key Partner Institution for Busan Medical Tourism This Year

Daedong Hospital (Director Lee Gwangjae) participated in the '2024 Busan Medical Tourism Key Partner Institution Selection Ceremony' held at Busan City Hotel on the 25th.

The event began with a congratulatory speech by the Director of the Tourism MICE Bureau and a celebratory address by the Planning Director of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, followed by the selection ceremonies for the 'Top 30 Partner Institutions for Attracting Foreign Patients to Busan in 2023' and the 'Top 20 Mediwel Busan Joint Promotion Partner Institutions for 2024', as well as a forum to strengthen the capabilities of medical wellness convergence.


This selection ceremony aimed to revitalize and enhance the competitiveness of Busan's medical tourism through focused promotion and to create business opportunities by selecting sustainable institutions in two categories: the 'Top 30 Partner Institutions for Attracting Foreign Patients to Busan in 2023' and the 'Top 20 Mediwel Busan Joint Promotion Partner Institutions for 2024'. Daedong Hospital was selected in both categories.


Park Sanghee, Head of the International Medical Center at Daedong Hospital, said, "We are delighted to be selected alongside Busan's outstanding medical institutions as a result of our various activities to promote international patient attraction since the opening of the International Medical Center," and added, "We will continue to work harder to vitalize Busan's medical tourism through Busan's branding strategy as a global hub city and differentiated K-medical branding."


The 'Top 30 Partner Institutions for Attracting Foreign Patients to Busan in 2023', selected based on the 2023 report on foreign patient attraction performance, includes 10 general hospitals, 10 hospitals and clinics, and 10 attraction agencies. These institutions will receive global certification and support for promotional content production.


In addition, the 2024 Mediwel Busan Joint Promotion, which aims to strengthen the convergence of medical tourism and wellness tourism, will establish a mutual cooperation system for the development of Busan's medical tourism by utilizing wellness content such as medical check-ups, beauty, and Korean medicine, as well as the city brand.
