Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun, who was appointed head of the DS division last month, will preside over this meeting for the first time. Other key executives expected to attend include Lee Jung-bae, President of the Memory Business Division, Choi Si-young, President of the Foundry Business Division, and Park Yong-in, President of the System LSI Division.

This meeting, traditionally held twice a year in June and December under the division head’s leadership, will take place amid internal and external uncertainties surrounding the semiconductor business this year. DS division employees are expected to focus on finding ways to overcome various challenges, including enhancing future competitiveness. Exchanges of opinions on macroeconomic overcoming strategies among business unit heads, current business performance and outlook, and next year’s business plans are also anticipated.

Samsung Electronics’ DS division is at a turning point. Last year, Samsung’s semiconductor business posted a record loss approaching 15 trillion won, and concerns are growing in areas such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and the foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) business.

Earlier, on the 24th and 25th, the Memory Business Division, Foundry Business Division, and System LSI of the DS division held separate sales strategy meetings. These meetings, attended by working-level staff, reportedly reviewed the first half of the year’s business and discussed strategies for the second half.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics’ Device Experience (DX) division held global strategy meetings by business unit on the 18th and 19th, focusing on key product sales strategies. On the 20th, a full DX division meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, where company-wide marketing and design innovation, activation of customer-centric multi-device experiences, and strategies to expand the use of big data were discussed.
