Nowon-gu Holds Resident Briefing on Redevelopment of District Unit Plans for Sanggye and Junggye Housing Development Areas

Nowon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will launch a large-scale residents' briefing session simultaneously with the public inspection announcement of the district unit plan revision for the Sanggye 1 and 2 phases, Junggye, and Junggye 2 housing sites.

The district unit plan, which will be accompanied by the residents' briefing session along with the public inspection announcement, covers an area of approximately 5.6㎢ in the Sanggye-dong, Junggye-dong, and Hagye-dong areas. This area is undergoing a district unit plan revision to establish an integrated basic urban concept and present reconstruction maintenance standards, as the reconstruction period for large apartment complexes, which have passed 30 years since the completion of the housing development district, is arriving simultaneously.

This revision plan, prepared through a service commissioned by the Seoul Metropolitan Government last year, will be available for online inspection and submission of opinions via the Seoul City Urban Planning Portal website from June 27 to July 11 for two weeks, as well as offline inspection and submission of opinions at Seoul City Hall and Nowon-gu Office.

In addition, the district has decided to hold several residents' briefing sessions to provide detailed information on the direction of regional changes, which is a matter of high interest to residents. The residents' briefing sessions, prepared jointly by the city and the district, will be held 14 times.

First, from July 1 for three days, individual residents' briefing sessions on the Sanggye housing site, Junggye housing site, and Junggye 2 housing site will be held at the Nowon Lifelong Education Center auditorium. Then, on July 4, a comprehensive briefing session covering the three housing sites will be held once more at the small auditorium of Nowon-gu Office.

Also, to improve accessibility for residents of the related areas, 10 small-scale residents' briefing sessions will be separately prepared using multipurpose rooms at the community centers and dong community centers. These small-scale residents' briefing sessions are open to anyone interested, including residents of nearby apartment complexes, and detailed schedules can be checked through the notices on the Nowon-gu Office website.

The district unit plan revision to be disclosed this time is expected to be finalized after related reviews in the second half of this year, following the residents' inspection and opinion collection.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "Significant changes are underway in the Nowon area, including reconstruction system improvements achieved together with residents and the Seoul Metropolitan Government's plan for the Great Northern Seoul Era," adding, "Through the residents' briefing sessions on the district unit plan revision, we will provide detailed information to residents about the changing systems and plans and strive to bring about regional changes through public-private cooperation."
