[2nd Report] JCS: North Korea Presumed to Have Failed Ballistic Missile Launch

North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile into the East Sea on the 26th, but it is believed to have failed.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated in a text message sent to reporters covering the Ministry of National Defense, "North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile from the Pyongyang area toward the East Sea around 5:30 a.m. today, but it is presumed to have failed." Military authorities are currently analyzing detailed specifications such as the type and flight range of the missile launched by North Korea.

Following the release of anti-South Korea filth balloons for two consecutive days on the 24th and 25th, North Korea showed a pattern of complex provocations by launching a ballistic missile in the early morning of the same day.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff also stated in a text message distributed to reporters covering the Ministry of National Defense the previous night, "North Korea is again releasing filth balloons (presumed) toward the South," adding, "Currently, the wind direction is northwest, and the balloons are moving southeast from the northern Gyeonggi region." On the night of the 24th, North Korea released about 350 filth balloons, with around 100 falling in the northern Gyeonggi and Seoul areas in the South.
