'100 Beautiful Roads of Korea'... Stunning 30-ri Hae-danghwa Colony

"Capture the 'Haidanghwa Scenery' at Baeksu Coastal Road in Yeonggwang!"

Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it has created a photo zone for visitors to Baeksu Coastal Road to leave precious memories by utilizing the scenery where the haedanghwa flower colonies harmonize with the surrounding sea and islands.

According to Yeonggwang-gun, Baeksu Coastal Road was selected as one of the '100 Beautiful Roads of Korea' and is a representative driving course on the west coast to experience the enchanting sunset. Every year in May and June, the 30-ri winding road is adorned with a magnificent haedanghwa flower path.

Since 2000, Yeonggwang-gun has continuously created and managed the haedanghwa flower path. In June of this year, a haedanghwa colony was established on idle land around the Daesinhang Observatory in Baeksu-eup.

Until now, the county mainly planted and cultivated haedanghwa along the roadside. Going beyond the limitation of enjoying the flowers from a car, they developed a large-scale colony where visitors can stay and appreciate the flowers. Two benches and safety wooden fences were also installed.

The newly created 'Haedanghwa Photo Zone' offers new sights and unforgettable fragrances along the coastal road. It is expected to gain a reputation as the 'Top Natural Scenery Photo Zone' capturing the vivid pink haedanghwa scenery with the vast coastline and several connected islands in one shot.

A Yeonggwang-gun official stated, "The haedanghwa hill was designed to minimize artificial structures so that flowers, sky, sea, and islands blend together, allowing anyone to become the main character. We created the most beautiful natural photo zone."
