Jindo-gun and Organizations Join Forces for 'Price Stabilization Campaign' Ahead of Summer Vacation Season

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do recently conducted a ‘Price Stabilization Campaign’ in collaboration with institutions and organizations in preparation for the summer vacation season.


According to the county on the 25th, the price stabilization campaign was carried out to establish a healthy consumption culture for the summer vacation season by eradicating unfair commercial practices and overcharging, creating an atmosphere of price stability, and complying with price labeling regulations.


About 50 participants, including Kim Hee-su, the county governor, employees from five departments, Jindo Police Station, related agencies, and organizations, took part in a street procession from Jindo-eup Silup High School to Jogeum Market to promote price stabilization.

Despite the hot weather, participants in the price stabilization campaign carried banners and hand signs around Jogeum Market with messages such as △A thriving traditional market and a smiling local economy △Price stability starts with wise consumption △Using traditional markets revitalizes alleyway commerce △Good prices and good businesses create a thriving local economy △Eradicate overcharging! Establish a healthy consumption culture △Price stability during the summer vacation season is achieved when everyone works together.


Governor Kim Hee-su comforted market merchants exhausted by the hot weather and high prices, listened to their difficulties, and urged them to welcome customers visiting the market during the summer vacation season with fair prices and friendly smiles.


He also met with residents visiting the market to provide on-site civil complaint services through consultations on grievances and other issues.


Governor Kim Hee-su stated, “During these difficult times of high prices, active participation from residents and wise consumption within the community can help stabilize prices. We will continue to guide and inspect unfair trade practices and carry out ongoing price stabilization promotional activities throughout the summer vacation season.”


Meanwhile, Jindo-gun is making every effort to improve the facilities and environment of traditional markets by promoting the Jogeum Market delivery helper project, which assists the elderly and disabled with carrying heavy loads at the market, posting price survey results three times a month on the Jindo-gun website through price survey personnel, supporting fire insurance premiums for traditional markets this year, and applying for the 2025 Jindo-eup Jogeum Market facility modernization project contest.
