The facility will feature two courts, an office, and restrooms in an indoor stadium format, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
The inspection involved 10 participants, including Mayor Lee Hak-su, construction experts, relevant officials, and the construction supervision team. It was conducted based on the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Construction Technology Promotion Act to prevent safety accidents caused by summer heatwaves and heavy rains.
Particular attention was paid to high-risk areas such as ladders, roofs, and scaffolding, as well as potential hazards like water pooling and electric shock during heavy rainfall.
Safety rules for preventing heatstroke were also communicated to thoroughly prepare for any safety incidents.
Mayor Lee Hak-su stated, “Through this inspection, we will create an environment where construction workers can work safely and strive to ensure that not a single safety accident occurs.”
Meanwhile, Saemgoeul Gateball Court is expected to partially alleviate the concentration of gateball courts due to the increasing elderly population.
It is especially anticipated to make it more convenient for residents of Yeonji-dong, Chosan-dong, and Sigidong to use the gateball courts.
