Gochang-gun to Host 'Mudflat Festival' from 28th to 30th... Various Experience Events Included

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 25th that the '2024 Gochang Mudflat Festival' will be held from the 28th to the 30th at Mandol Mudflat in Simwon-myeon.

The county has secured additional parking space for over 200 vehicles, and various programs such as the 'Gochang Mudflat Trail Health Walking Contest,' 'Mudflat Life Four-Cut Photo Booth,' and 'Mudflat K-POP Dance Competition' are scheduled to take place.

In particular, activities like 'Mudflat Experience' where participants dig for clams and dongjuk clams, and 'Slippery Pungcheon Eel Catching,' where people catch Pungcheon eel, Gochang's representative seafood, with their bare hands, are expected to attract attention.

Additionally, there will be a variety of seafood specialty food corners unique to Gochang, such as shrimp tempura and dongjuk seafood pancake, as well as a tasting and on-site purchase opportunity for Pungcheon eel, Gochang's representative specialty, offered at a 20% discount compared to market prices.

Kim Chung, Chairman of the Gochang Mudflat Festival Promotion Committee, stated, "We will do our best to prepare the festival so that many people can fully enjoy the clean coast and eco-friendly food at the Mandol Mudflat Festival site, creating joyful experiences and exciting memories."
