PwC Consulting Launches Digital Plant Center "Innovating Chimney Industry with Digital Twin"

PwC Consulting announced on the 25th that it has officially launched the Digital Plant Center, which provides comprehensive services from building the foundation of digital twins to maintenance for operation. A digital twin refers to a technology that implements machines, equipment, and objects from the real world into a virtual world within a computer.

As digital transformation (DX) rapidly progresses in the industrial sector, governments worldwide and global companies are actively investing in digital twin technology development and infrastructure construction. PwC Consulting forecasts that investment in this field will grow more than 20 times over the next decade.

The Digital Plant Center consists of approximately 150 experts in cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology and industry specialists. It offers comprehensive services ranging from foundational construction for digital twins to ongoing maintenance for continuous operation.

In particular, the center focuses on customers in traditional “smokestack industries” such as chemicals, steel, and materials, which have been hesitant to adopt and utilize digital technologies. It aims to maximize safety and operational efficiency and provide solutions that optimize the total lifecycle cost of equipment assets, from capital investment to operation and maintenance, thereby enhancing tangible business outcomes.

At the initial launch stage, the center will concentrate on three service areas: ▲ AI-based global standard data acquisition services ▲ AI-assisted system services that are easy for production site personnel to use ▲ advanced data analytics services. It plans to flexibly expand the range of services offered according to future market conditions.
