SOS Lab Listed on KOSDAQ... "Targeting Global Market with 3D LiDAR"

SOS Lab announced on the 25th that its listing ceremony will be held at the Korea Exchange Seoul office. CEO Jeong Ji-seong of SOS Lab, company executives, and key officials from Korea Investment & Securities, the lead underwriter, will attend.

SOS Lab is a LiDAR specialized company established in 2016. CEO Jeong and four PhD candidates from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) co-founded the company. SOS Lab possesses high technological capabilities, conducting not only product design but also solution development independently.

The main products include the 3D fixed LiDAR ‘ML (Mobility LiDAR)’ and the 2D LiDAR ‘GL (General LiDAR)’. The 3D fixed LiDAR is regarded as a game changer that can replace Tesla’s camera-based autonomous driving system. Because it adopts a structure similar to a camera, it is compact, highly durable, and competitively priced. It has dramatically improved the problems of existing 3D LiDAR based on mechanical driving methods.

SOS Lab’s LiDAR is expanding its applications beyond autonomous driving systems to various fields such as semiconductor transport equipment, autonomous robots, industrial safety, and smart cities. The funds secured through the listing will be heavily invested in R&D advancement, including new product development and mass production preparation, to proactively respond to market changes. The company explained that it aims to dominate the autonomous driving LiDAR market, which is about to fully open, based on its advanced technology.

An SOS Lab official stated, “SOS Lab is a global company recognized domestically and internationally for its high technological capabilities through active collaboration not only with domestic and foreign mobility companies but also with numerous global big tech firms,” adding, “We will accelerate research and development and focus on commercialization starting from this listing.”

SOS Lab has continued rapid growth with an average annual sales increase of 62.8%. Last year, it recorded sales of 4.1 billion KRW, achieving double growth once again. It is accelerating commercialization to the extent that it is developing small LiDARs for autonomous vehicles in collaboration with ‘SL (Seoul Lamp)’, the domestic market leader in the automotive lamp sector.
