Hi-Tech 2024 Unveils Hotel TV Equipped with 'AirPlay'
Connects with iOS and iPadOS Devices Without Separate Apps or Passwords
Supports Hotel TV Dedicated Management Solution 'Link Cloud'
Integrated Management with 'SmartThings Pro'
Samsung Electronics announced on the 25th that it will showcase hotel TVs equipped with the 'Apple Airplay' feature at 'HITEC 2024,' the world's largest hotel technology exhibition held in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Samsung Electronics supports Apple's wireless content sharing technology, Airplay, on Samsung hotel TVs. Airplay will first be applied to the flagship lineup (model name: HBU8000) and will be expanded to all models through future software updates.
When hotel guests scan the QR code on the room TV screen, they can automatically connect their iOS and iPad OS devices, such as iPhones, to the TV without needing a separate application or password. Upon checking out, information linked to the connected devices is automatically deleted.

Solutions to enhance device operation and management efficiency within hotels will also be introduced. Hotel IT managers can efficiently utilize content operation, device management, real-time monitoring, remote control, security, and user customization through Samsung Electronics' dedicated hotel TV integrated management solution, 'Link Cloud.' Without purchasing separate solutions, hotels can also establish an 'In-Room Ordering' system that allows guests to reserve or order various products and services offered by the hotel directly from their rooms. It is also possible to analyze guests' usage patterns, such as TV viewing, app usage frequency, and use of hotel services provided.
Additionally, hotel IT managers can connect and control Samsung Electronics products such as hotel TVs, signage, and system air conditioners, as well as smart devices like lighting and cameras that support the latest industry IoT standards, Matter and HCA, all at once through the B2B integrated connection platform 'SmartThings Pro.'
To accommodate the system environments and requirements of various hotel partners, a dedicated API is also provided. Partners can integrate SmartThings Pro with their existing operation and management systems and develop customized dashboards containing the information they want.
Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "With the diverse lineup including hotel TVs equipped with Airplay showcased at this HITEC exhibition, as well as differentiated solutions and services such as Link Cloud and SmartThings Pro, we will lead the hotel TV market."
