'Kim Dongseon Hamburger' Five Guys 1 Year... Entering the 'Global Top 10'

September Opening of 5th Branch in Pangyo
Introduction of Coupang Eats Delivery and Gift Cards

American hamburger brand Five Guys achieved the feat of having all four of its Seoul stores ranked in the global sales 'Top 10' within just one year of its domestic launch. Five Guys is a business led by Kim Dong-seon, Vice President and Head of Strategy at Hanwha Galleria, who is the third son of Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group.

FG Korea, the domestic operator of Five Guys, announced on the 25th that it will expand services such as regional expansion, delivery, and gift cards to mark the first anniversary of Five Guys' launch in Korea.

Currently, Four Five Guys locations in Gangnam, Yeouido, Gangnam Express Bus Terminal, and Seoul Station have all been listed among the ‘Global TOP 10 Stores.’ Additionally, a new store (5th branch) will open in Pangyo, Bundang, Gyeonggi Province in September. Starting with Pangyo, the first region outside Seoul, the company plans to continuously expand its regional stores.

New services for customer convenience will also be introduced. First, a prepaid gift card that can be charged up to 200,000 KRW will be launched next month. The gift card will be initially released at the Seoul Station branch starting from the 1st of next month and will be usable simultaneously at all stores. Delivery service will also be introduced in partnership with Coupang Eats. After a pilot operation at the Gangnam branch in the second half of this year (July to December), the service area will be expanded.

To celebrate the first anniversary on the 26th, Five Guys will give away the ‘Five Guys Limited Edition Oxford Block’ on a first-come, first-served basis at the first branch, Gangnam. From the 1st to the 7th of next month, customers who charge 200,000 KRW on the gift card at the Seoul Station branch will also receive the block on a first-come, first-served basis.

Oh Min-woo, CEO of FG Korea, said, “The achievements of the past year were all thanks to the support and love of our customers,” adding, “We will continue to strive to provide high-quality taste and service.”
