Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will promote "Housing Education for Youth" at 7 p.m. on the 28th at the Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin to help young people who lack real estate knowledge.
According to the district, as of April 2024, the youth population aged 19 to 39 in Gwangjin-gu is 116,180, accounting for 34.7% of the total 334,790 residents. One in three residents is a young person.
Recently, nationwide, there has been a sharp increase in jeonse fraud, causing significant social repercussions, with about 70% of the victims being young people. Young adults who are new to society are exposed to real estate crimes.
In response, the district has prepared a special lecture to ensure housing stability for young people. This actively reflects opinions received through youth proposals in March. The Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin, a youth policy specialized institution, and the Gwangjin Housing Welfare Center, a housing policy specialized institution, have joined hands.
The lecture contents include ▲ Introduction to youth housing counseling agencies ▲ Guidance on youth housing policies ▲ Types and support plans for youth-specialized public rental housing and youth jeonse loans ▲ Prevention methods for jeonse fraud ▲ Precautions when drafting contracts ▲ How to obtain a fixed date stamp ▲ Explanation of the Housing Lease Protection Act. It aims to help young people who have difficulty finding housing secure stable homes.
The recruitment target is 30 young people aged 19 to 39 who reside or live in Gwangjin-gu, and the application deadline is the 27th.
Youth who wish to participate can inquire at the Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "Real estate knowledge and housing policies such as lease contracts and loans are essential knowledge, so I hope many young people will show interest and participate," adding, "Since a stable housing environment is directly linked to happiness, we will actively support many young people to become independent in a more stable situation."
