Kumho Tire 'Inobui' Demonstrates Technology in Electric Vehicle Race

Park Jun-ui of the Solite Indigo Racing Team and Kim Gyu-min of the DCT Racing Team, both equipped with Kumho Tire's electric vehicle-exclusive racing tire EnnoV, each won the 3rd and 4th rounds of the Hyundai N Festival eN1 class held on the 22nd and 23rd at the Korea International Circuit (KIC) in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do. Park Jun-ui and Kim Gyu-min, wearing Kumho Tires, showcased unstoppable driving skills and tire performance, crossing the finish line first.

The eN1 class is an electric vehicle race within the Hyundai N Festival, the largest one-make (single model) race in Korea. It is notable as the country's first electric vehicle race and the world's first electric vehicle race to apply racing-specific slick tires. In particular, this class uses the ‘IONIQ 5 eN1 Cup Car,’ a one-make EV race car based on Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N, equipped with Kumho Tire’s electric vehicle-exclusive racing tire EnnoV.

Kumho Tire participated in this eN1 class to once again demonstrate the true value of its electric vehicle-exclusive racing tire ‘EnnoV’ and supported the successful operation of the race. Especially on the day of the 3rd round final on the 22nd, despite heavy rain, all drivers who finished from 1st to 6th place used Kumho Tire EnnoV wet tires and achieved top results. Wet tires are racing tires designed specifically for rainy conditions, requiring advanced technology to maintain grip while enhancing water drainage.

Park Jun-ui, who won the 3rd round, said, “I am very happy to stand on the podium top again in the 3rd round following the eN1 class opening race,” and added, “Since the race was held in heavy rain, driving ability on wet roads and tire performance were more important than anything else, and thanks to Kumho Tire’s EnnoV tires, I was able to show good performance.”
