President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 24th urged the presidential office to "thoroughly prepare the security posture due to the serious security situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula."

On the same day, President Yoon held a senior secretaries meeting at the Yongsan Presidential Office and gave this directive, according to Lee Do-woon, the chief spokesperson.

Chief Lee explained President Yoon's directive as meaning "to maintain a firm readiness posture regarding the military and economic security impacts of the Russia-North Korea treaty and the Middle East situation."

It is interpreted as an intention to further strengthen military and security postures, given that recently North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a summit in Pyongyang and significantly enhanced military cooperation between the two countries.
