Only Domestic Company to Receive President's Gold Award

KGC Ginseng Corporation announced on the 24th that its energy recharge drink, 'Jeonggwanjang Hwalgi-ryeok Booster,' won the top prize, the President Gold, at the 'WorldStar Packaging Awards 2024' held in Thailand.

The WorldStar Packaging Awards is an annual competition hosted by the World Packaging Organization to promote technological advancements in innovative and sustainable eco-friendly packaging materials. It is regarded as the most prestigious awards ceremony in the packaging field worldwide.


The World Packaging Organization, composed of experts from over 60 countries and key figures from national research institutes, conducts a two-stage evaluation including remote and physical assessments of the entries, and holds the awards ceremony divided into main and special categories.


This year, out of 435 entries from 41 countries, 212 products won in the main category. Jeonggwanjang Hwalgi-ryeok Booster was the only domestic product to win first place in both the main and special categories, receiving the President Gold award.

Jeonggwanjang Hwalgi-ryeok Booster received high praise for improving user convenience and developing eco-friendly packaging that leads market changes. The packaging is made of paper material, making it easy to recycle, and reduces unnecessary structures by 46% compared to previous designs, saving 28 tons of resources annually. Additionally, the internal carrier enhances convenience for transport and storage, and the exposure of the contents improves display appeal. Based on these features, it targets the 2030 generation who need energy recharge, and gained popularity by selling 10,000 sets within a month of launch.


A KGC Ginseng Corporation official stated, "Jeonggwanjang Hwalgi-ryeok Booster is designed for the 2030 generation’s hip content and continuous energy recharge, allowing easy consumption anytime and anywhere," adding, "Winning the President Gold at a global packaging award recognizes our competitiveness and technological capabilities."
