Mini 2nd Album 'Na' Debuts at No. 7 on Billboard 200
Second After 1st Album, Highest Rank for K-pop Female Solo
Group 'TWICE' member Nayeon (29, real name Im Nayeon) has once again set a new record for K-pop female solo artists on the US Billboard main album chart.
According to the Billboard chart preview article on the 23rd (local time), Nayeon’s mini 2nd album 'NA,' released on the 14th, recorded sales of approximately 47,000 copies and ranked 7th on the Billboard 200 chart dated the 29th.
With this, Nayeon became the first K-pop female solo artist to have more than one album in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Previously, her first solo album, mini 1st album 'IM NAYEON,' also ranked 7th on the same chart in 2022. This ranking was the highest ever for a K-pop solo artist as of July 2022 and remains the highest position for a K-pop female solo artist on this chart to date.
The US Billboard main album chart, the 'Billboard 200,' is calculated by adding traditional album sales, TEA (track equivalent albums, which converts digital track downloads into album sales), and SEA (streaming equivalent albums, which converts streaming counts into album sales). 'NA' recorded 43,000 traditional album sales and 4,000 SEA units.
This album, featuring the title track 'ABCD,' ranked first on this week’s Billboard 'Top Album Sales' chart.
TWICE, the group to which Nayeon belongs, also reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart dated March 9 with their mini album 'WITH U-SEA' released in February. TWICE is currently successfully conducting their fifth world tour, 'READY TO BE,' boasting 51 shows across 27 regions worldwide.
