Dobong-gu Establishes Smart Innovation Division and Labor Hope Team... Organizational Restructuring Effective July 1

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will carry out an organizational restructuring in July. This is to secure momentum for the 8th term of the elected administration and improve inefficient structures to enhance residents' trust and satisfaction with administrative services.

Previously, the district conducted an organizational diagnosis for the restructuring, completing an analysis and diagnosis based on objective data such as changes in the administrative environment, functions, organization, and personnel analysis.

This restructuring focuses on specialization by organizational function, strengthening efficiency, and demand-oriented administration.

The main changes effective July 1 are broadly categorized into four areas: ▲ establishment of new departments ▲ separation of teams ▲ reorganization of the system ▲ and renaming of teams.

To create future growth engines for the 8th term, the district will establish the 'Smart Innovation Division' to swiftly incorporate and promote digital innovation technologies into district policies. In particular, a new 'Smart Planning Team' will be created to oversee overall smart city planning and manage smart-related public projects. This establishes a system for expanding smart city infrastructure and services.

Additionally, as the importance of essential workers for maintaining community functions increases, a dedicated support team for essential workers, the 'Labor Hope Team,' will be established. The Labor Hope Team will take the lead in improving the rights and interests of essential workers going forward.

To specialize functions by policy area, teams will also be separated. The 'Autonomy Support Team' will be divided into the 'Autonomy Support Team' and the 'Autonomy Cooperation Team,' which supports non-profit private organizations. The 'Child and Youth Friendly Team' will be split into the 'Child Friendly Team' and the 'Youth Support Team' to specialize youth functions.

To enhance organizational efficiency, the Social Economy Team, After-school Care Team, Sustainable Development Team, and Job Support Team will be consolidated into the Win-Win Economy Team, Child Friendly Team, Creative Innovation Team, and Job Project Team, respectively.

System reorganization will also be implemented. To quickly communicate the progress of core strategic projects of the 8th term to residents, the 'Public Relations Officer' will be moved from directly under the Deputy Mayor to the Public Relations Policy Division of the 'Planning and Finance Bureau,' which oversees strategic projects, with a change in system and title. Also, the 'Urban Revitalization Promotion Team' under the Planning and Finance Bureau will change its system to the 'Future Environment Bureau' to strengthen organic work connections with the Youth Future Division.

To make it easier for residents, the administrative demanders, to understand department tasks, team names will also be changed. The 'Collection Division' and 'Assessment Division' will be renamed as the 'Tax Management Division' and 'Property Income Tax Division,' respectively.

Furthermore, the Dong Community Center's 'Autonomy Village Team,' 'Integrated Welfare Team,' and 'Administrative Civil Affairs Team' will be simplified to 'Administration Team,' 'Welfare Team,' and 'Civil Affairs Team,' respectively. In addition, 10 other teams in the district office will have their names revised to better reflect their work nature.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "This organizational restructuring was carried out to secure growth momentum on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the 8th term of the elected administration and to enhance residents' trust in administration and satisfaction with services. We will continue to address remaining tasks and residents' pending projects steadily in the latter half of the 8th term."
