Seocho-gu Installs Circulators at Village Bus Stops with Many Students and Seniors

Near Schools and Public Facilities, 'Seoripul Siwon-i'

Seocho-gu Installs Circulators at Village Bus Stops with Many Students and Seniors ‘Seoripul Siwon-i’ usage scene. Provided by Seocho-gu.

Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 24th that it has installed ‘Seoripul Siwon-i’ at 10 village bus stops to help residents using public transportation cool down during the hot summer.

‘Seoripul Siwon-i’ is a circulator installed above bus stops that users can activate by pressing a switch to operate for 3 minutes when needed. Since it uses solar power, it enables efficient operation with eco-friendly energy use and electricity savings.

The installation sites are ▲ Exit 5 of Gyodae Station ▲ Eonnam Elementary School ▲ NewCore Department Store ▲ National Library of Korea ▲ Seongchon Village Entrance ▲ Eonnam High School ▲ Seorae Elementary School ▲ Exit 2 of Isu Station ▲ Seoi Elementary School ▲ Seoul Intersection bus stops. These locations are mainly near schools and public facilities and were selected for their high usage rates by students and the elderly. ‘Seoripul Siwon-i’ will operate until the end of September, when summer ends.

Meanwhile, Seocho-gu is promoting various community-based heatwave measures such as ‘Seoripul Cooling Chairs’ where people can wait for buses comfortably at bus stops, indoor heat relief shelters for the elderly, and large shade tents called ‘Seoripul Wondumak’ where pedestrians can avoid sunlight while waiting at crosswalks.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “We have installed ‘Seoripul Siwon-i’ at bus stops frequently used by residents to provide a brief respite from the heat,” adding, “We will pay more attention to preventing heat-related illnesses that may occur during the summer and to providing high-quality public transportation services.”
