According to Sputnik News on the 22nd, Ambassador Antonov told reporters that Putin's visits to North Korea and Vietnam "have trapped the United States in a quagmire," adding, "It has once again been confirmed that Global South countries are paying great attention to what Russia is doing, watching closely, and reaching out to us." The Global South mainly refers to emerging and developing countries located in the Southern Hemisphere.

Ambassador Antonov also mentioned the bill introduced in the U.S. Senate to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, claiming that the U.S. side is avoiding serious dialogue with Russia. On the 20th, U.S. senators introduced a bill to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Antonov said, "It is clear that the U.S. administration is trembling at the successes we are demonstrating," and "they do not want to start serious talks, ignoring the proposals our president has put forward regarding the resolution of the Ukraine crisis."

Antonov also revealed that he received notification from the U.S. side about the closure of Russian visa application centers in the United States and that diplomatic duty-free cards have been revoked. He added that there is no sign that the worsening relations between Russia and the United States will pause, let alone improve. He said he plans to meet with White House officials in the coming days and "wants to discuss the issues with them concretely, not through the media."

Meanwhile, on the 19th and 20th, President Putin made state visits to North Korea and Vietnam, respectively. He signed a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty' with Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, and issued a joint statement with President V? ??c ?am of Vietnam declaring that they will not participate in alliances or treaties with third countries that undermine each other's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
