Follow-up Measures After Last Year's Summit Meeting
The first Korea-Netherlands Economic Security Dialogue was held. This is a follow-up measure to last year's summit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the 21st (local time), the 1st Korea-Netherlands Economic Security Dialogue took place in The Hague, Netherlands. Kim Jin-dong, Director General of the Bilateral Economic Diplomacy Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Yvette van Eijkhout, Deputy Director-General for Foreign Economic Relations at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others, attended and exchanged views on factors affecting economic security and high-risk external dependencies.

Specifically, both sides discussed cooperation measures between the two countries to effectively respond to supply chain disruptions.
In addition, they agreed to continue efforts to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation such as research and development (R&D) in key and emerging technology fields including semiconductors, where active collaboration between the two countries has recently been taking place, as well as personnel exchanges.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also explained the main contents of the Basic Act on Support for Supply Chain Stabilization for Economic Security, scheduled to be implemented on the 27th, to the Dutch side during the meeting.

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs official said, "Both sides evaluated that the first Economic Security Dialogue was a useful opportunity to enhance understanding of each other's policies and to seek ways to strengthen cooperation to jointly overcome the challenges faced as open trading nations."
